Strukton Group in the Netherlands reduced its CO2 emissions by no less than 14.5% (6,158 tonnes) in 2020 compared to 2019. The reduction compared to 2009 is 47%. This means that we are well on track towards our aim to reduce our emissions by 55% in 2030 compared to 2009.
The significant reduction in 2020 was mainly achieved as a result of the Covid 19 measures. The emissions of our lease cars, vans and other modes of transport (commuting, business mileages, privat cars) reduced considerably. The increase of the number of electric cars in the Strukton lease fleet had great impact on the emissions as well. We had 22 electric lease cars in our fleet in 2019, which grew to 150 at the beginning of 2020 and 243 at the end of 2020.
Till now, we have included the activities in the Netherlands in the footprint of Strukton Group (on behalf of the Strukton Group CO2 certificate). We are going to include the emissions of Strukton Rail in Belgium as of 2021. The impact will be made visible separately.

In Sweden, Strukton Rail is also taking big steps in sustainability and reduction of the footprint. Information about that (in Swedish) can be found here.
