Strukton Nominates Lieve Declercq as New CEO

The Supervisory Board of Strukton nominates Lieve Declercq as the new CEO of Strukton, effective March 1, 2025. For the past 7.5 years, Lieve Declercq has served as CEO of technical service provider SPIE Nederland BV and as a member of the Executive Committee of the SPIE Group. She will succeed interim CEO Rob van Wingerden, who has guided Strukton through a turbulent period toward stability and a positive outlook. In the coming months, both will work together to ensure a smooth transition. The Central Works Council of Strukton has been requested to issue its advice shortly.

Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Joseph Kuling:

“With Lieve Declercq, we are appointing a CEO who will focus with ambition on the medium- and long-term development of Strukton. She brings extensive experience in strengthening internal organizations and further developing the strategic direction. Her national and international expertise in technical solutions with public relevance is of great value for Strukton’s future. We are very pleased with this appointment, which offers employees, clients, and other stakeholders a strong and clear perspective.

We thank Rob van Wingerden for putting things in order during his nearly two years as interim CEO of Strukton. By addressing the acute operational and financial challenges, he has restored the company’s foundation and confidence in a healthy future.”

Rob van Wingerden:

“After nearly two years as interim CEO of Strukton, this is the right time to pass on the helm. Together, we have regained the trust of our customers and partners and created a stable foundation for shaping the organization’s future. I want to thank all stakeholders, both internal and external, for their support and professionalism during this intensive period.”

Lieve Declercq:

“What inspires me about Strukton is its vision of a sustainable future where infrastructure and technology come together. Trust in the company has now been restored, allowing me to further strengthen the foundation and grow Strukton into an innovative and leading European player in sustainable rail infrastructure and beyond. I look forward to collaborating with colleagues in all countries to realize this ambition.”

Lieve Declercq earned her MSc in Industrial Engineering and Management from K.U. Leuven. Before her time at SPIE, she spent ten years at ExxonMobil, followed by 12.5 years at Van Gansewinkel Groep as General Manager of Maltha Glasrecycling and five years as Chair of the Board at Vitens, a drinking water company. She currently serves as a board member at Ramboll and Aalberts, is part of the boards of Techniek Nederland and the Fund for Dutch National Opera and Ballet, and sits on the supervisory board of the Foundation for Natural Leadership.
