The net results in 2022 were EUR 178.4 million (2021: EUR 181.6 million negative). This positive result was mainly due to the sale of Strukton Worksphere in 2022. The rail divisions in the various home countries (Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden, Denmark and Italy) also contributed to the result in a positive way. Problems at several large projects from the past and significant write-offs on the RIVM project and the Hoofdstation Groningen project had a negative impact on the result.
Based on the latest insights concerning these two projects in particular, additional provisions were recorded, which led to adjustment of the preliminary results for 2022 and 2023 that we reported in March 2024. The net result of 2022 was adjusted from EUR 207.5 million to EUR 178.4 million and the net result of 2023 was adjusted from EUR 27.1 million to EUR 27.5 million. The figures of 2023 are preliminary.
Mazars Accountants have issued an unqualified auditor’s report for the annual accounts for the year 2022, in contrast to the annual accounts for the years 2020 and 2021. The auditor gave a disclaimer of opinion related to the 2020 (and as a result 2021) annual accounts, because the auditor – when auditing the 2020 figures – could not access the financial figures of the consortium in Saudi Arabia to which Strukton belonged.
We are highly grateful for the trust, contribution and commitment of our clients, partners and colleagues during the still very challenging phase of Strukton, enabling us to continue our mission towards a sustainable infrastructure in Europe.
