Strukton Civiel is a leading global player in the immersion of tunnel elements and caissons. One example: we were responsible for raising, transporting and immersing two enormous caissons for the Çanakkale Bridge. These are the foundations of the pylons for this suspension bridge across the Dardanelles in north-western Turkey. The caissons landed just ten millimetres from the sea-floor target, well within the maximum tolerance of twenty centimetres. A tremendous achievement.

Hydraulic engineering connects. Literally, of course, when we build bridges and tunnels. But also in the collaborations we enter into with our clients and partners. A fine example is the Weerwater Bridge in Almere. Our meticulous requirement analysis with all stakeholders enabled us to match our proposal precisely to the needs. Both in the design and the implementation, and in the operational phases, we made many sustainable choices so as to achieve the municipality’s ambition: a ‘Growing Green City’.
Care for historical value
The quay walls of the Havenkom in Middelharnis were no longer satisfactory. As an Approved Restoration Company, we used our expertise in the construction team to preserve the existing construction as far as possible, by choosing a different approach for each section. We prevented damage to the historic buildings around the quay wall by using vibration-free and other modified construction methods.
