Jacob Zeeman joins the Unife Presiding Board

Our CEO Jacob Zeeman was today elected as a Unife Presiding Board member. We joined this industry organisation several years ago. Unife represents over 400,000 employees in the European rail industry. Member companies include small and medium-sized enterprises and major industrial players.

Unife represents the interests of its members at European and worldwide level. It maintains close contacts with the European Commission, members of the European Parliament and with EIM and CER (branch organisations of the European railway managers and European operators). In the past years, Strukton contributed to the active role of Unife in the realisation of Shift2Rail, the European innovation programme of the European rail sector.

Zeeman:

“Working together on a European level is essential. We must join forces to make sure that rail transport will be a key pillar in building a more resilient and sustainable Europe.”

Unife’s Presiding Board underlines that this is important, as described in the ‘Declaration of the European Rail Supply Industry on the occasion of the 2020 UNIFE General Assembly’. Rail transport is one of the most climate-friendly transport modalities and can form the backbone of a clean, digital and multi-modal mobility system. The rail industry has a wealth of innovative companies with solutions that can contribute to the realisation of the European goals.

Together with infra managers in Europe like Trafikverket, RFI, ProRail and Banedanmark, Zeeman wishes to contribute to a green digital recovery of Europe.
