Last weekend, Ooms Construction (Strukton Civiel) laid the first surface layer (PA8G-Plus) in the Netherlands which has a road surface label. On the A348 between Velp and Dieren, the road surface over 2.4 km was replaced by porous asphalt for the municipality of Gelderland. The asphalt has a finer structure than porous asphalt. It lasts longer and is also good for the road user's wallet because cars will use less fuel.
There's also a lot of interest abroad for this instrument developed in the Netherlands. Recently the initiators: Province of Gelderland, Twente University, the Band en Milieu association and Strukton Civiel presented the concept in Geneva.
