Rotterdam UoAS chooses Strukton Worksphere
The climate renovation of the historic building on Academieplein in Rotterdam is being implemented by Strukton Worksphere.
Today, Wijnand van den Brink, board member of Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences, and Frank de Garde, director of Projects at Strukton Worksphere, signed the contract ‘climate renovation location Academieplein’. In awarding the contract, it was the qualitative approach rather than the lowest price which distinguished it from the other tenders. Concrete solutions with respect to limiting inconvenience, safety for the surroundings and transparent cooperation with Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences are key to the approach of Strukton Worksphere.
The project includes the total replacement of the climate installations of the buildings A and B on Academieplein in Rotterdam. Sustainable installations are replacing the air handling units in this historic building, which also accommodates the architecture and civil engineering programmes. The state-of-the-art media library and modern classrooms offer the students an inspiring and comfortable place to study.
The project currently has 'Definitive Design' status and is being developed by Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences, Strukton Worksphere and other construction partners in a construction team.
