On Thursday, 20 April 2017, the highest point of the redevelopment of Rijkskantoor De Knoop was achieved. For the Central Government Real Estate Agency and R Creators (a joint venture between Strukton, Facilicom and Ballast Nedam), this is the moment to thank everyone and celebrate this partnership.

The outdated complex is being sustainably redeveloped to become a government office that will accommodate various government departments. The work consists of a combination of demolition, renovation and extension. The principle was to demolish as little as possible and to re-use wherever possible.

Theme
Cooperation was an important criterion during the tendering phase. That cooperation (not only within R Creators, but also with the Central Government Real Estate Agency) is the theme running through the project and is bearing fruit. Construction is going according to plan and we have a very good basis for working together for the coming 20 years.

The meeting place for government
R Creators is not only creating a building designed to work in, but for 20 years it will also run the model of a national meeting place for permanently satisfied users. In the most hospitable, innovative and efficient way. Hosting and hospitality are leading.

The building has good adaptive features. Growth and shrinkage can easily be accommodated. Organisational units can leave or move in without many modifications being required. That makes Rijkskantoor De Knoop not only modern, but also sustainable and future-proof.
